Inflation Rate Calculator Updated, 3-24-15

During our regular update to the inflation rate calculator provided in our iCalculator online suite of real estate calculators we discovered that US inflation climbed in February. This in accordance with the latest US government CPI data released on March 24, 2015 for February 2015.

That increase aside, however, our latest update means that you can now use our inflation rate calculator to compute how much you would have to spend today for the goods and services you spent during any year beginning back in 1913 through February of this year.

Example 1
You would have to spend $1,081.67 today for the same goods and services you spent $900 for in 2005. That’s a cumulative 20.2% rate of inflation since 2005.

Example 2
You would have to spend $1,963.29 today for the same goods and services you spent $900 for in 1985. That’s a cumulative 118.1% rate of inflation since 1985.

Example 3
You would have to spend $7,882.46 today for the same goods and services you spent $900 for in 1955. That’s a cumulative 775.8% rate of inflation since 1955.

Example 4
You would have to spend $21,338.36 today for the same goods and services you spent $900 for in 1913. That’s a cumulative 2270.9% rate of inflation since 1913.
